Welcome

Welcome to the NIRSA Region V and Big XII Conference Transportation Blog

There are several easy options for ground transportation to and from Boulder to Denver's International Airport (DIA). The trip between DIA and Boulder takes about one hour. The bus and shuttle systems are very reliable, efficient, and clean. We do not suggest taking a taxi since it can be rather expensive. The purpose of this blog is to give up to date information on the options for getting to and from DIA. We also hope this blog can be a venue for setting up Carpools to and from the airport. We are striving to make this a green conference so we encourage our attendees to take mass transit or, if renting a car, to carpool.

Each Blog will contain a different transportation option and all its pertinent information. If you are interested in carpooling please leave a comment under the carpooling section so others can view your comment. It might be useful to let people know when your flight lands, if you have a car with spots available, or if you need a ride. If you have any questions on how to use this blog contact Catie at Catherine.gibson@colorado.edu.

Regional Transportation District (RTD) Buses

RTD (303) 299-6000 or 1-800-366-7433
RTD buses depart from both the East and West sides of the Terminal, Level 6 (outside door #613 on the East Terminal). You should board an RTD SKYRIDE bus labeled AB (DIA/Boulder via US36). Buses depart DIA from 6:15 a.m. to 11:20 p.m. See website for exact departure times. The one-way fare to Boulder is $12 or $22 round trip (round trip is an advance purchase). Drivers can't make change, so bring the exact amount. The ride to Boulder takes approximately one and a half hours. The bus makes several stops along Broadway before arriving at the main bus terminal. The Millennium Hotel is a 1.3mile walk from the bus stop. The Millennium Hotel has a local shuttle (It does not go to the airport) and charges $8 for the van (not for each passenger). This $8 charge covers up to 8 passengers using the van; for 9 or more passengers the charge is $20. You will want to contact the hotel a couple of days in advance to let them know you plan on using this service so they will have a driver ready, and call them the day you arrive and let them know what time and bus station to pick you up. You can also take a taxi to your desired location. You can visit the RTD website at www.rtd-denver.com and click on skyride.

SuperShuttle

Supershuttle: (303) 444-0808
The Supershuttle vans provide a little more personalized service by delivering you directly to your desired location. You need to make reservations with Supershuttle for the day you plan to travel. You must check-in with Supershuttle counter located on the Baggage Claim/Ground Transportation Level (Level 5), across from the Hertz Rental counter. Shuttles run every hour on the hour from 5 a.m. to midnight and take approximately one hour and twenty minutes. A one-way fare is $31; each additional person in your party is $10. You can also visit their website at
www.supershuttle.com.
